Dr. Oz cascades 3 on cover of USA Weekend

... at least it appears he does. The image looks a little Photoshopped. Although, I do not doubt for one second that he probably is a decent 3 ball juggler.

The Flaming Idiots in NY Times

... are still performing at The New Victory Theater thru Jan 3 , and just received a nice write up in The New York Times. Way to go guys.

AJ Silver

Angelo is currently performing at the Krystallpalast Variete Theater and recently posted this

While I know that Angelo does not perform "full time" as a working juggler, I've seen him juggle at conventions and with The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus shows and he is quite a good juggler. I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him at juggling convention public shows and he is a true gentleman and one of the best "Western Arts" performers working. I will from time to time include mentions of other great variety acts that I feel jugglers should know about and appreciate. Enjoy the video.

Ty Tojo

... recently opened his show at the NGK Theater in Osaka Japan, and will be appearing there through Feb 24.

This story also came via a very proud Dick Franco, who has not only trained, managed and mentored Ty, but also happens to be his Dad.

Casey Boehmer

It’s hard to imagine anyone calling Casey Boehmer disabled. Despite being born with the lower half of his left arm missing, the Illinois native “drives a car, water skis, shoots pool, pitches baseball; he even wrestled on the varsity team in high school,” says his mother, Judy, 42. “Casey accomplishes whatever he sets out to do.” And that includes making his living as a world-class juggler. At 21 years old, Casey became one of the most respected jugglers in the world. Winner of top medals at the International Juggling Association in 1994, 1995 and 1996, he learned to juggle along with his 10 siblings as a family hobby. In 1989 The Boehmer Family Jugglers turned professional and has played venues such as the Kennedy Space Center, the 1994 Olympic Festival, at state fairs throughout the Midwest and at professional sporting events across the country. His amazing juggling has been featured in USA Today’s Weekend magazine, Teen People and National Geographic World magazine, as well as on many national talk shows. You can see Casey and his unbelievable juggling skills during Circus Sarasota’s performances in 2010!

Bernard Hazens

Bernard Hazens

Bernard Hazens is currently the juggling act performing in Teatro Zin Zanni's San Francisco show "Under The Gypsy Moon".

This Just added... I received this link in my email to a great story on Bernard just published today on J Weekly.com's website. Was my post mentioning Bernard's appearance in the Teatro ZinZanni's show timely... or what. Total surprise to see this published on the same day.

Dan Menendez

The "Original" Piano Juggler

Dan Menendez will be "stealing 3 violins and a cello from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra this weekend", as he puts it. Actually he will be performing his 12 minute symphony act as a part of their "Very Merry Holiday Pops Concert" for 1 show on Friday and 2 shows on Saturday.

Picaso Jr.

Picaso Jr. is the featured juggling act with The Big Apple Circus currently. Dates are: New York 10/22 - 1/18, Atlanta, GA 2/12 - 3/28 and Washington DC 3/6 - 3/27. Click on Picaso's name in the title to visit his site and click below for ticket information to go and see this show.

Anthony Gatto

Just got word from Anthony Gatto that he and his family have now relocated and just getting settled into living in Florida to be a part of the Cirque La Nouba cast in Orlando. He opens on January 5th and says that he has signed on for a year and if all goes well he will be there at least that long. Anyone living or traveling near there in the next year should take this opportunity to catch Anthony's show. If you are a fan of juggling or jugglers and you have never seen Anthony perform live then you really need to make it a priority to do so at some point in your life. Simply put... THE BEST!!!

and many more great jugglers and buskers
will all be a part of the World Busker's Festival in
Christchurch, New Zealand on Jan.21 - 31 2010

If you happen to be on that side of the earth or have the means to get there, this is a great opportunity to see some of the best buskers and variety acts in the world. This will be one of the rare opportunities to catch the The Raspyni Brothers (one of my favorite comedy juggling duos) in a public performance. Most of the work they do these days are private or corporate events. I recently worked with Mario "Queen of the Circus" (Clark Mcfarlane) and this guy has one of the strongest character based juggling acts in the world. He is an International Street performer of Rock Star proportions and always gets the crowd going. I must also mention that The Acrobuffos, Seth and Christina Gelstone, while not currently performing a juggling act, will be there performing their audience interactive balloon toss/water show. I worked with them recently in China and absolutely love their act. One of the best street acts that I have seen. These are but a few of the many great acts that will be at this event. I wish I could be there...

Francis Brunn Video

I debated whether I was going to include videos and/or video links on here, but in light of this video that Michael Chirrick just posted on his wall on Facebook, I had to include this link for those of you not on Facebook. It's some of the clearest video of the Master Juggler Francis Brunn... It is a thing of beauty and is something to behold.

For the latest touring dates, visit their website by clicking their name above...

J.T. Doyle
I stumbled across this image on the internet and found it very intriguing. I have never heard of this juggler, but love the photo. If anyone knows anything at all about this performer please post it as I would like to know more. I love the wardrobe choice and the vintage torches.

The Great Kaplan

I was reminded tonight by my juggling partner and co-organizer of this event that
Dave "The Great Kaplan"
will be appearing at the "Champions of Magic" benefit show for The Children's Museum of SC. This show is a part of "Magic at the Beach" and is on January 16th at 8:00PM in The Palace Theater of Myrtle Beach, SC. Links below...

Dave Kaplan is one of my favorite "Variety" acts out there. This guy does it all: juggling, music, magic all presented with excellent comedy and a nice Vaudeville flavor. Good Stuff!!!

Tommy Curtin
Just received an email from good friend and
Legendary Juggler Tommy Curtin that he will be appearing in "Winter Wonderland on Ice" at the Crest Theater in Delray Florida on December 18, 19 and 20.

I had the pleasure of working with Tommy recently. He is the "real deal" and one of the best in our field out there working today. I highly recommend that you see him if you get the chance to. He's a "class act" and a living legend.

A mother watches her daughter spin a plate during a juggling show by Bill Giduz and Austin Bruckner in front of Wachovia Bank during Christmas in Davidson Thursday.

The opening of the 3-day Christmas in Davidson festival attracted hundreds of shoppers and strollers to Main Street Thursday night. The festival continues Friday and Saturday nights downtown. See a schedule of events in The Guide.

First Entry

OK,
I'm diving into the world of long term blogging. I have blogged a couple of my trips overseas to China to perform, but this is the first time that I have attempted to keep an ongoing blog.
I noticed that there are a number of blogs out there for other variety arts, and there are even a few good podcasts related to juggling, but there is not place online where one can tune in to find out what jugglers are performing where, what jugglers are going to be on TV or the latest news online that relates to juggling and jugglers. The only way that this will really work is if everyone contributes news and info that they are aware of, as well as passing on the news of this blog. It will only be as big and as informative as the people involved.
I'll start with this little story about Matt Damon juggling on Jay Leno's show while reciting the Declaration of Independence.
